Texas Barbeque Sauce Recipes

This is one of the best Texas Barbeque Sauce Recipes and it is so versatile. It can be used alongside any barbequed or grilled meat dish, or it could become the base for Barbeque Chicken Recipe. You can also use this alongside your favorite Barbeque Pork Ribs Recipe. Here, you can choose your favorite steak cut and add it to the sauce for a tender, juicy treat.

  • Easy
  • Preparation time: 5 minutes
  • Cooking time: 20 minutes
  • Makes 2½ - 3 cups
  • Ingredients:

2lbs / 900g steak (fillet, rump, sirloin - according to your taste and budget)

  • 1 medium onion, finely diced
  • 1 clove garlic, crushed
  • 3 medium tomatoes, diced (about 1lb / 450g)
  • 1 cup tomato ketchup
  • 2 tablespoons tomato paste
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire Sauce
  • 1 teaspoon dry (English) mustard
  • 3 tablespoons dark brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon cayenne
  • 2 tablespoons cider vinegar
  • oil for shallow frying
  • How to make bbq sauce:

    1. In a pot, fry the onion in a little oil until it is soft and slightly brown.
    2. Add the garlic and cook for a minute.
    3. Add the tomatoes and cook for about 3 minutes.
    4. Add the rest of the ingredients.
    5. Simmer for 15 - 20 minutes. Be careful that the sauce doesn't burn. Add a little water if necessary.
    6. Cut the steak into 4 portions. Add a little oil to a frying pan. Heat it until it really hot, but not smoking. Add 2 of the steaks. They should sizzle as you add them to the pan. Cook for about 3 minutes and then turn them over and cook for a further 2 minutes. If you like your steaks well done, fry for a little longer. Repeat for the other 2 steaks.
    7. Add the steaks to the sauce and cook for a further minute. Serve with Potato Gratin and lots of vegetables.
