Pesto Sauce Recipe
This Pesto Sauce Recipe is quickly put together in a blender or food processor. Most Pesto recipes call for pine-nuts. These, however, tend to be pricey and are not always available. This recipe uses pecan nuts instead, and the resultant flavor is still very pleasing - you end up with a great budget-wise pesto. This sauce is ideal with Leftover Lamb Recipes - Lamb Salad with Couscous, or with simple chicken or fish dishes.
EasyPreparation time: 5 minutesMakes about 1½ cupsIngredients: 3 cups loosely packed basil leaves1 cup pecan nuts1 medium garlic clove½ cup grated Parmesan cheese½ cup olive oil
Method: - Place all the ingredients except the oil in a food processor. Process.
- Gradually add the oil until you have a stiff paste. If you would like your pesto to be runnier, add a little more oil.
