Easy Fruit Salad Recipe

This easy Fruit Salad recipe is one of those simple dessert recipes that is quickly made. And yet, it is always a treat.

This fresh fruit salad recipe uses summer fruits - depending on where you live you may be able to get these out of season. Alternatively substitute with what is available. You can even add some dried fruit that has been soaked in weak tea (or red-bush tea).

The use of orange juice is optional. If you are serving this with cream or ice-cream or even on its own, then I would add it. However, fresh orange doesn't compliment all flavors so use your discretion.

  • Easy
  • Preparation time: 10 minutes
  • Serves 6
  • Ingredients:

  • 1 large mango, peeled
  • 8oz / 250g strawberries, hulled
  • 2 - 3 kiwi fruits, peeled
  • 8oz / 250g seedless grapes
  • 1 apple, halved and cored
  • 1 slice watermelon, optional
  • ½ cup fresh orange juice, optional
  • Method:

    1. Cut the mango and watermelon into inch (2½ cm) cubes.
    2. Slice the kiwi fruit.
    3. Dice the apple.
    4. In a large bowl, mix together the mango, kiwi fruit, apple, strawberries, grapes and watermelon.
    5. Pour over the orange juice.
    6. Serve as quickly as possible so that the apple doesn't brown.
