Easy Fruit Salad Recipe
This easy Fruit Salad recipe is one of those simple dessert recipes that is quickly made. And yet, it is always a treat. | This fresh fruit salad recipe uses summer fruits - depending on where you live you may be able to get these out of season. Alternatively, substitute with what is available. You can even add some dried fruit that has been soaked in weak tea (or red-bush tea). You can also serve this as one of your healthy breakfast recipes. |
If you have a bowl of fruit salad in the fridge is makes a healthy snack recipe for kids who are needing an energy boost. The use of orange juice is optional. If you are serving this with cream or ice-cream or even on its own, then I would add it. However, fresh orange doesn't compliment all flavors so use your discretion.
EasyPreparation time: 10 minutesServes 6Ingredients: 1 large mango, peeled8oz / 250g strawberries, hulled2 - 3 kiwi fruits, peeled8oz / 250g seedless grapes1 apple, halved and cored1 slice watermelon, optional½ cup fresh orange juice, optionalMethod: - Cut the mango and watermelon into inch (2½ cm) cubes.
- Slice the kiwi fruit.
- Dice the apple.
- In a large bowl, mix together the mango, kiwi fruit, apple, strawberries, grapes and watermelon.
- Pour over the orange juice.
- Serve as quickly as possible so that the apple doesn't brown.
